Brief Introduction:

Iron Oxide Black, also known as ferrosoferric oxide, magnetic iron oxide, or Pigment Black 11, is a black or black-red powder with the chemical formula Fe₃O₄. It is a synthetic pigment produced through chemical reaction, typically obtained by the Laux or precipitation processes. It has a density ranging from 4.6 to 5.18 g/cm³ depending on the specific grade, and melts at approximately 1594°C. This pigment is non-toxic, insoluble in water and alcohols, and dissolves only in concentrated or hot strong acids. It exhibits excellent covering power, high tinting strength, and good light fastness and weather resistance. At temperatures above 200-300°C, it is gradually oxidized in air and transforms into red iron oxide. It has magnetic properties and is stable under normal conditions.
